How to participate in our online courses
How do I access my vhs.cloud course?
You can change the site language in the footer of the vhs.cloud website. Not all parts are available in other languages.
If your course takes place in the vhs.cloud, please follow the steps below in order to participate:
- Register as a participant at www.vhs.cloud
- Complete the registration form. After sending it, you will receive an email with your password and can instantly log in.
- Once you have successfully logged in to the vhs.cloud, click on the "Join new course" button at the bottom of the overview page, your "desktop". Once the new page opens, enter the course code using the button "Kurs mit Kurs-Code beitreten" (Join course with course code). Write a short message to the teacher and click on the button "Register".
- The course code is structured according to the scheme coursetitle@koeln.vhs.cloud. You will receive it from us in advance.
Please note: Your teacher must confirm your access to the course room manually. Therefore we recommend that you sign up for the course shortly after registering rather than waiting until right before the course starts.
As soon as you have been confirmed in the course room, you will find the course under "My courses" and are able to access it. If your course starts with a video conference, click on "Conference" in the course room and select "Start Zoom".

How do I access my Zoom course?
If the course you have booked takes place exclusively via Zoom video conferencing, you will receive an access link from us in advance. Registration in the vhs.cloud is not necessary.
Basic information on participation in video conferences
We generally use the provider Zoom for our video conferences. The version we use complies with the European General Data Protection Regulation.
We recommend that our participants install the free Zoom desktop client for use on their computer.
If you are new to video conferencing, you can test your camera, microphone, speaker and internet connection via a Zoom test meeting.
